- NFL. Dak Prescott criticized for Super Bowl comments that fans take with a grain of salt
- NFL. Dillon Gabriel is one step away from knocking out Shedeur Sanders, already practicing with the first team
The quarterback competition at the Cleveland Browns' training camp continues, and this story seems to have no end. Every day brings a new chapter-this must be something historic. The NFL is always polarizing, but what's happening with the Browns is something that will be ed for many years, especially because of Shedeur Sanders.
The case of Shedeur Sanders is worth analyzing. He's a young quarterback who has always been in the spotlight-for his lifestyle, his two strong seasons with the Colorado Buffaloes, but most of all because he is the son of NFL legend and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.
Shedeur Sanders is now the fourth option for the Cleveland Browns, mainly because he was selected in the fifth round. He's also competing against two veterans-Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett-both of whom were first-round draft picks, along with fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.
NFL analyst says Kenny Pickett will be the Browns' starter
Although many Cleveland Browns insiders have mentioned that the true starting quarterback right now for Head Coach Kevin Stefanski is Joe Flacco-since Stefanski knows him from the 2023 season and Flacco led the team to the playoffs-there may be an ace up the coach's sleeve, and that could be Kenny Pickett.
Pickett, who was selected in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022, played two seasons there with 24 starts before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he won a Super Bowl as a backup.
The first quarterback the Cleveland Browns signed in free agency was Kenny Pickett, and he has shown good things. He might be the quarterback the media has paid the least attention to, but he could end up being the team's starter, according to Jason Lloyd of The Athletic on The Ken Carman Show:
"Kenny Pickett is going to start the first game. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't."
The analyst noted that Joe Flacco seems to be the best quarterback on the team, but in the end, Kevin Stefanski will likely decide to start Kenny Pickett in Week 1 against the Bengals.
