Not just with the Steelers - Aaron Rodgers is already at odds with J.J. McCarthy after making an improper proposal to the Minnesota Vikings

The saga of Aaron Rodgers and where he'll play in 2025 is far from over. The Pittsburgh Steelers are still waiting on a decision from the controversial quarterback, who has yet to give them the green light for next season - and time is running out, with the Draft taking place next week.

Just a few days ago, Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger suggested that Rodgers is simply using Pittsburgh as leverage to put pressure on the Minnesota Vikings, as "Big Ben" believes Rodgers sees more potential in ing Minnesota to make a deeper run next season.

The Vikings let go of Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones, who were part of the quarterback group last season. One would assume that J.J. McCarthy - a first-round pick last year who is now recovered from injury - would be the clear leader of the offense, but the team has yet to make anything official publicly.

Rodgers' proposal to the Vikings

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported on the pitch Rodgers made to the Minnesota Vikings' front office. However, the NFC North team's management has not yet made a decision.

"That's where Rodgers came into the equation. When the four-time MVP approached the Vikings with the idea of making a one-year run at a Lombardi and serving as a willing mentor to McCarthy, the team felt compelled to listen. The proposal, of course, was different from the other two - it meant hitting pause on the idea of playing McCarthy, rather than fostering competition and having multiple quarterback options."

Rodgers, now 41 years old, is coming off a very rough season with the New York Jets. The former Cal quarterback completed just 63% of his es, throwing for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

As of now, the Vikings only have McCarthy and Brett Rypien listed as quarterbacks. Minnesota hasn't announced who will lead the team - a team that had a strong season last year and made it to the playoffs. Even McCarthy himself has said he hasn't been told anything.
